Duplicate detection in EasySLR has been improved to better identify records with the same DOI, even when the DOI appears in different formats or is embedded within text from different sources.
What’s improved
EasySLR can now recognise and match DOIs in several common formats, including:
Direct format: 10.xxx
With prefix: doi:10.xxx
As a link:
Fallback detection: Any valid 10.xxx pattern found within text fields
Why this matters
DOIs are often formatted differently across databases and file exports, which can cause duplicates to be missed. By detecting DOIs in all common formats, and even when they appear inside text, this improvement:
Increases the accuracy of duplicate detection
Reduces the need to manually review similar records
Helps keep datasets cleaner and more reliable
Saves time during de-duplication, especially for large imports
Overall, this update makes duplicate detection more reliable and better suited to real-world data, giving users greater confidence in the results.
