We’ve eliminated another manual step from your review workflow. Previously, users had to start Mini Data Extraction (Mini DE) AI manually. EasySLR can now initiate Mini DE AI automatically as soon as an eligible article file or PDF becomes available.
This update helps reviewers access extracted study information earlier, make better-informed screening decisions, and move articles through the review process more efficiently.
What’s new?
When a Mini DE form is configured and AI is enabled, EasySLR automatically runs Mini DE AI in either of the following situations:
An article file is uploaded during the Title and Abstract (TiAb) screening stage.
An article moves from the TiAb stage to the Full-Text (FT) stage and has an attached PDF.
Once triggered, the AI reads the available document, identifies relevant information, and populates the configured Mini DE fields without requiring the reviewer to start the process manually.
Before this update
Reviewers had to:
Open an eligible article.
Locate the Mini DE section.
Start Mini DE AI manually.
Wait for the extraction to complete.
Review the populated values.
With automatic Mini DE AI
Reviewers only need to:
Configure the Mini DE form for the project.
Enable AI.
Upload an article file at TiAb or move an article to the FT stage.
Review and validate the automatically extracted values.
Requirements
Automatic Mini DE AI runs only when:
A Mini DE form has been set up for the project.
AI is enabled for the Mini DE form.
A supported article file or PDF is available.
The article is uploaded at TiAb or progresses from TiAb to FT and PDF is available.
If these conditions are not met, automatic extraction will not begin.
Key benefits
Fewer manual steps: No need to start Mini DE AI manually.
Earlier access to information: Relevant study details are extracted as soon as the document becomes available.
Faster screening: Reviewers can use extracted values to support TiAb and FT decisions.
Improved consistency: Mini DE AI is triggered systematically across eligible articles.
Greater efficiency at scale: Teams processing large article volumes can reduce repetitive work.
Reviewer control: Extracted values remain available for review, validation, and editing.
What do users need to do?
No additional action is required once the Mini DE form is configured and AI is enabled. Continue uploading article files and progressing citations through the workflow as usual. EasySLR will handle the Mini DE AI trigger automatically.
